That’s why Meta Belize, in collaboration with Mind Unlocked, recently delivered two impactful sessions of the “Mastering the Art of Workplace Communication” training for the dedicated staff of the Belize Tourism Board (BTB).
Held in two time slots—one in the morning and one in the afternoon—the sessions welcomed over 30 BTB professionals, each showing enthusiastic participation and a shared commitment to elevating industry standards.
A Training Designed for the Tourism Sector
This was not your average corporate workshop. The training was tailored specifically for the tourism industry, using real-life scenarios, language, and examples that reflect the daily realities of BTB’s work with hotels, travel agents, tour operators, and local communities.
Facilitator Azalia G. Larrieu, a Mental Health Practitioner with a specialization in Trauma-Informed Practice and Leadership, guided participants through practical communication tools they could immediately apply—not only at work, but also in their personal relationships.
From exploring emotional tone in workplace conversations to practicing active listening and building trust across departments, attendees left with a renewed understanding of how thoughtful communication enhances collaboration, reduces tension, and promotes unity across the tourism ecosystem.
