In September 2025, representatives of the Mental Health Association appeared on the Sun Up on 7 morning show to discuss World Suicide Prevention Day and their advocacy work at the Welcome Resource Center.

The television discussion featured Lady Kathy Esquivel, Secretary of the Mental Health Association, and Vice President Azalia G. Larrieu, MSW, LMSW, CCTS-I, a Clinical Trauma Specialist.
The conversation helped bring attention to mental health awareness and the importance of community support. Public discussions can also help people learn more about available resources and encourage compassionate conversations about emotional well-being.

World Suicide Prevention Day is observed internationally each year on September 10. It draws attention to suicide prevention while encouraging greater understanding, communication, and support for people experiencing emotional distress.
