Providing emotional and mental health counseling to groups and individuals.
Our goal is to provide a safe, and non-judgemental space for you to openly speak about what may be worrying you. These worries may look like: difficulty with coping in your daily life, impact of trauma, suffering from a medical illness or grieving a loss, or specific mental disorders. We utilize a variety of theory and models to guide you to function better and increase your well-being.
Therapy Sessions
If you have never seen a therapist this may seem like a daunting task. You may think it is way easier to talk to a friend or a close family member. However, as a professional licensed therapist we have the skills needed to commit to assessment and utilize evidence-based interventions to help you. Therapy can help treat a variety of problems. Some common reasons people seek therapy include:
- Depression
- Marriage problems, infidelity, divorce, or other relationship issues.
- Sexual problems.
- Stress and anxiety.
- Addictions and compulsions.
- Grief, loss, or bereavement.
- Anger.
- Career choice.
- Parenting or family problems.
- Phobias.
- Insomnia
- Fertility issues.
- Domestic violence or abuse.
- Eating disorders
Therapy will not be easy. You may find that it gets harder before it will get easier. Just as the body needs exercise to be healthy, so does your psychological and emotional aspects of the mind. This process entails commitment on your part to follow through.
Session may be conducted in individual, family, groups, and are open to both children and adults. Typically sessions are once a week for 40 minutes. You must be willing and ready to commit to change. Number of sessions depends on the issue at hand and your progress. Typically, change may be noted within 8-10 sessions.
