In light of the recent rise in child abuse cases, a panel of experts including Mrs. Azalia Larrieu, LCSW, were invited to share their insights on this topic. The discussion ranged from how to identify child abuse and how to report it, to what support is available to victims and their families, and understanding the cycle of abuse.
Along with Mrs. Larrieu were Mr. Shawn Vargas, Director of the Department of Human Services, Ms. Shakira Sutherland, Executive Director of the National Commission for Families and Children, and Ms. Mariette Robateau, Assistant Superintendent of Police in the Domestic Violence Unit.
