META was invited to participate in the last day of celebrations for Anglican Cathedral College’s Mental Health Week 2022. The theme of this year’s Mental Health Week was “You Are Not Alone”.
The week was filled with activities and wellness as Anglican Cathedral College took some time for self care and shared some powerful messages with students and staff about the importance of Mental Health.
The week closed off with a Mental Health Fair that engaged students in fun activities and provided them with mental health resources. Invited organizations included the Belize Mental Health Association, the Ministry of Health and the Department of Youth Services. META Belize was also happily among the invited guests.
We shared on information on mindfulness, emotional control, and the different facets of wellness. The students got to participate hands-on by making their own stress balls for stress relief out of flour and balloons.
The Wellness Wheel was another popular activity. Students had fun spinning this wheel and learning about the 7 pillars of wellness that are necessary to live a well-rounded and balanced lifestyle.
The high school students learned mindfulness and stress relief through fidget toys and art therapy and wrote positive notes for each other on sticky notes.
META was honored to have been invited to participate in this inspiring event. We enjoyed spending time with the students, faculty, and staff at ACC and sharing with them what they can do to care for their mental health.
